Picture News - Personal Development (SMSC)
Personal Development at Belmont School
Picture News supports your child's personal development, spiritual, moral, social and cultural development (SMSC) and their understanding of the British Values and RRS Rights of a Child.
We extend our curriculum beyond the academic, technical or vocational. Giving pupils the opportunities to develop learning further through news stories that inspire them. Allowing them to discover talents and interests through the broad coverage.
How can you know you are interested in something if you don’t even know it exists?
If we want our pupils to make a difference, they need to have the confidence to speak out!
They must develop resilience. If, at first, they do not succeed, develop ideas further, do not give up!
Exposing pupils to a range of current issues including political, religious, cultural, environmental, social, moral, spiritual.
Picture News makes British Values relevant and meaningful and develops links between personal, school and community values.
Allowing our pupils at Belmont School to demonstrate respect and tolerance. Pupils can often explain how they should behave or what they should say, but what better way to teach respect than if they are discussing something they actually care about?
Our RRS Ambassadors will share the slides below to create discussion and ensure that learning is for everyone.
